when is this wall expected to open again? have always wanted to try it…

btw, if I am (belay) certified at LVAC, would I have to take the belay test again? Also, can you lead on this wall?

From past experience, LPAC typically opens around second week of May. As for belay certification, LPAC members and new members alike are required annual certification regardless of belay certification status at LPAC or at other climbing gyms.

Last summer, lead climbing was held on Tuesdays (and maybe on Thursdays), at LPAC. If you want to lead climb at LPAC (I believe this is a uniform LPAC/EAC/LVAC policy for liability reasons), your belayer must use a Gri Gri.

You may want to double check w/ Keith in case this info is not up to date or had changed.

Hey Julian, that is pretty accurate. We will open in early May, the certifications are good for all the clubs. So if you were certified in ‘08 at LVAC you need do nothing further for LPAC.

Lead night is Tuesday’s.

Thanks, Keith. Good to know. I forgot to mention, lead climbing/belaying (i.e., w/ a Gri Gri) certification is required of climbers wanting to lead climb at either LPAC/EAC/LVAC.
