tom's 'T-Rex-proof'

Tags: v4, Dynanic, T-Rex

Time for a new bouldering challenge, especially if you can’t spend all day working MAX’s ‘Heart of Darkness’.

Welcome to ‘T-Rex-proof’ (V4)! As the name implies no T-Rexes will be climbing this one anytime soon! It’s implausibly reachy! There are no all-out dynos on it, just very long 3-points-of-contact distances to cover. And there’s a pretty cool campus move! I’m tall enough (at 5”10” and some ape index to throw around) to do the two really big moves. Zac can, too. If you are shorter than us I don’t see it happening.

Good Luck!

Worked this for a little while last night and never stuck the first crux throw. Dan F (not tall Dan F) stuck it once or twice, but it looked pretty difficult to move from there. Frustrating.

I set the holds, stood back, looked at them, stepped forward and failed the first crux move quite a few times—thinking I had to do a cut-loose dyno—before Zac showed up, got on his toes and pretty quickly got it. Having seen what Zac did I did it within a couple tries. So I think you (Pete) and Dan Fahrenbach and David Martin as well as a bunch of others (surely Robert and DanF) CAN hit this one. Dokko maybe not. Qin is going to have to bring her ice tools.

I finally stuck that first long crux move once or twice last night. The whole thing might still go. Looking forward to working the rest of it… Especially in front of Dokko to make him feel bad :)

Anyone who is not tall enough to make the first reach but able to pull off a lunging dyno… and can then finish the problem is a climbing god in my book. Go for it dokkodave!
