it’s funny my friend was suggesting a trip to the Needles this spring. nice pic! i know the trad climbing is awesome there…any good sport climbing too?

There’s definetly some good sport climbing, but many of the bolts and anchors were somewhat old and suspect (homemade..bad rock…loose..)

I wouldn’t avoid the Needles altogether. This was from Pinnacles National Monument in about 1999 – 2000. I have a slightly older (1995) guidebook to the area, if anyone is interested in looking.

Looks like a good place to learn trad climbing. Lots of 5.5 and 5.6s with great views
