Climbing Partner

I am interested in learning how to lead climb but I do not have regular climbing partner. Would anyone be interested in doing some top rope and leading climbing on a regular basis?

If you can get into the city on Mondays there is a 6-week Advanced Lead Climbing class being taught at Fitplex (aka Fitness Formula Clubs – Old Town). You don’t need to bring a partner. You learn everything you’d need to know to take it outdoors! The class meets from 6:30-8:30pm and the price ($150) includes 6 open visits to the gym. Many of the people who are in the Fitplex climber group of Largesquare have taken this class. I teach it.

I took my first lead class at Fitplex – Old Town. If you can make it to the downtown area, it’s a pretty good deal, since you get to climb there too.

However, if you are in the burbs, I do plan on climbing (lead and TR) at Climb On and VE more regularly starting Feb. I am not sure about the lead policy at Climb On, I’d imagine that they will let you mock-lead to learn the mechanics before taking the lead test. They prob have a class too. I am traveling this month, but will let you know when I get back in early Feb :-)

Climb on does offer a lead class and I was planning on taking that. Before I take the class I wanted to make sure that I was going to have a partner to climb with. I am also waiting to buy gear for the same reason (rope, quickdraws).

Sounds good! Have a safe trip!!
