I brought in my wide-angle and tripod the other week to experiement with some shots. I haven’t yet seen a full on photo covering the full length of the wall so I thought I’d post this up.

nice. what lens did you use? You don’t see much distortion in the vertical lines converging up the top of the frame. The ground looks a bit weird, but maybe that is just the angle.

I have a Pentax SMC wide lens. At the widest angle (18 on digital format?), all lines on the side look a bit ‘curved’

I used the Canon 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 – my absolute favorite lens. This was at 10mm for sure (tho, not including the 1.4x crop factor). I think it doesn’t seem too distorted because I still had to set the tripod back to the side and almost against the wall to fit it all in. I’ve noticed the closer you are to the subject, the more the distortion becomes apparent.

Looks nice, the pic and the wall… Are there any self-belay ropes there? How high is that?

Its somewhere between 50-60ft. No autobelays, but if you can show up during supervised climb hours and someone on staff can give you a belay, as long as there isn’t a class going on. Oh, and you would need to be belay certified too.
