Can I wear men's shoes??

Tags: shoes

Hey guys,

I’m thinking of getting new shoes, but most of the women’s shoes are so boring and ugly, and there is very little to choose from. Would it be a bad idea for me to wear guys’ shoes if I got them in a small size?

Thanks for the advice!

I think the shoes you have are men’s shoes, so if they fit ok then go ahead and try another pair of men’s shoes. You should definitely try them on before you buy them (obviously) and make sure they fit tight enough, especially in width and in the heel. I think women’s shoes are designed to fit narrower, triangular feet, while men’s shoes are designed to fit wider, rectangular feet. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if the shoe fits, buy it, but that’s not really that helpful haha.

Lauren,

Can I “wear men’s shoes”?

The question you ask is, at its core, a question we all ask from time to time. Can I wear men’s shoes? Obviously you’re not really talking about footwear. The decision to surgically alter yourself in order to achieve manhood is not one to be taken lightly. You should consult with friends, family, and potentially medical staff and clergy before embarking on this journey. Can I wear men’s shoes? Only you can say what your true gender is. And once you make that decision, don’t let anything change your mind. Your friends here in McDonaldland will support you no matter what you choose. Can I wear men’s shoes? (also, if you mean real climbing shoes… recommend moccasins. so comfy. hope that works. later, thxbye.)

Be proud.

Respectfully yours, The Mayor

Lauren,

Once again, The Mayor’s depth of sympathy is as profound as the size of his head. Little did you know when you posed the question that the way has already been paved. One Robert Green made this very same transition a short time ago. Roberta, as he was once known, could barely stand in women’s climbing shoes and climbed rather sadly and quite often in a tutu. And now we know this person as Robert, a Stud Among Studs and a True Champion of all the Little People Who Want to Grow Up and Be Men!

well…i just got back from moosejaw…after trying on shoes intended for every gender, i have found the answer to the question “can i wear men’s shoes?” and the answer is no. men’s shoes definitely come in more fun colors, but i was forced to get some women’s la sportivas in a pastelish blue. the mens’ were just too roomy in the toe. trapped in the pastel prison of women’s footware, lauren.

Lauren,

Get a permanent marker, in your choice of color, and color in your shoes if you’re that worried about aesthetics.

You could also get an entirely NEW set of sunglasses with various colored lenses, thus giving (at least you) the impression that your shoes are as colorful as you want the world around you to be on any given day!

And on “pastelish blue” days you just go without.
