New Problems at HP

I hear there are some nice new boulder problems set at Hidden Peak. Has anyone tried any of them? Are there any I should look for? V2-V5 range.

How does HP compare to FP? Difficulty? Size? Crowd? Their website makes it seem like its mostly geared toward little kids.

The new problems at HP are awesome! Tons of bouldering problems of V3 and up. The 40 degree wall is what I love the most because it’s really great when training for overhangs.

Zac, on the 40 wall, left side: try the dark green V3, the white V4, and the red V6. On the 40 wall, right side: try the red V4/5, the yellow V4-, sea grean/blue V6, and the blue V3+. Me and Gerry recently worked on all of them. They’re f’ing awesome!

HP is a great bouldering gym. It’s small, but really makes up for its size with great route setting. The kids climbing team ends practice around 6pm so it’s best to get to the gym after 6:30pm to avoid them. The crowd is mostly experienced climbers training their asses off. Everyone’s super nice and supportive and you’ll always have a spot. As for difficulty, it has the most hard, technical bouldering routes, above a V3, in all of Chicago.

That blue sloper on the left side of the wall is my arch nemesis. Boots me off the wall every time and it seems every problem goes through it. /whine.

Send ‘em all in the next couple day, folks . . . it’s all coming down on Thursday/Friday! Time for some new, “hard, technical bouldering routes” to play on! And a good set of Starter V0 problems too, of course! See the post under “News.” Please drop by, have a beer, and help out on Friday if you have some time!

Cheers- dave
