Climbing season's almost here...

So climbing season’s upon us and we should start planning some climbing trips. My April’s gone, but I might be able to do a weekend trip in either March and/or May.

I’m thinking either sport at the Red or bouldering at So Ill. (I don’t have the $$ for trips that would entail me flying so let’s keep this discussion purely to driveable trips)

What do you guys think?

Thinking about the Red towards the end of March. Dave (smiley) will be there, and Max and Pete will be there too.

I’ll be at the Red the last week of March; I have my itinerary set:

Tissue Tiger Manifest Destiny Creep Show Super Dario

and some moderate trad routes

Dude, I wanna get back on Tissue Tiger too. But I can’t get Cell Block off my mind…it’s so fricken awesome. If it’s got perma draws on it, I’m working on it for sure.

Average high temp. for March 22-30th is around 61, totally doable.

{whispering into Ha’s ear}cell block…cell block…{/whisper}

and who needs permadraws? as long as someone gets to the top to clean the thing, does it matter?

Rosen and I are taking a marathon trip the third week of March (to include the weekend before and the weekend after) to Southern first, and the reds second. We’re driving and camping most of the time and plan to do the motel thing every now and again. If anyone’s interested in coming along for any part of the trip we’d be more than happy to hang out.

Will anyone be down at RRG the weekend of March 14th. Jon Berman and I are thinking of going? Anyone want to join us?

I’m gonna have to pass on the Red in March. I remember climbing there last April and it was snowing and freeeeeezing cold. I’m a wuss when it comes to cold weather..UNLESS the temperature miraculously dips into the mid 60’s then I’ll have to start packing my gear!

I wasn’t that bad during the day, but camping at night in March was brutal. colder weather makes the rock stickier

I dunno man, I thought it was pretty bad during the day. Lost feelings to my fingers and toes turned yellow and purple.

If it’s anything like Oct/Nov last year, the sun will be key. I remember shivering all night when it was sub-freezing, then climbing shirtless during the day in the sun (sorry for those that had to witness that BTW).
