Kitty Video?

Tags: dvd, cats

I’ve seen a lot of DVDs that are supposed to entertain cats. Has anyone tried them? Do cats actually like them? My cat ignores the TV most of the time, but that might be because he’s not interested in Law & Order. Maybe he’d like it if there was an action-packed bird hunt going on….? If you’ve tried it, let me know what the kitty’s reaction was…

One of our cats LOVES these videos. In fact, he will meow until we turn it on for him at about 4 AM EVERY night. He will sit in front of the TV for hours. He likes to watch sporting events as well. On the other hand, our other cat has absolutely no interest in the TV. So, I think it just depends. This is what we have. http://www.cattv.com/page2.php#vc

I’ve looked at many of the cat videos out there. A lot of them are cheap/low-quality and not that great. When I was searching for a good one I came across CatDVD. The nice thing about the is they actually have a demo on their website, although they tell you that cats probably won’t be interested because it is too short, my kitten was VERY interested in the demo video! I bought the DVD and I was not disappointed. Both our kittens love to watch it and paw at the screen.

Such an adorable little kitten! She’s really going for that screen. Those fishies better watch out! ;)

I tried showing Dracula the demo and he totally ignored it. But, I think that’s because it was too small on the screen. I couldn’t get it any bigger…

He went crazy for these animated critters! He was staring and pawing at the screen. The bug is his favorite!

Since other kitties seem to like them, I might get him a video anyway. He loves the sound of birds chirping and he never gets to hear it in the winter when the windows are closed. So even if he doesn’t like the visuals, he’d probably like it for that. But, I can see him liking the images as well…

Thanks!

So, it was Dracula’s birthday yesterday and one of the gifts we got him was a kitty video. We got Cat Sitter Vol II because that was the only one they had at the store. At first he was only interested in the bird sounds, but after awhile he got into the visuals too. Here is a shot of him try to get the birdies:

I’m glad we got it for him. Now we can leave it on for him when we go out to keep him entertained.
