Do you bathe your cat?

I know some people believe that it is unnecessary to give cats baths because cats ‘bathe’ themselves by licking. However, some people notice that cats’ fur can get somewhat oily after awhile if they are not bathed with soap and water.

Our cat is an indoor-only cat, so we only bathe him about once a year. But, I am curious whether other people bathe their cats more or less often…

Here are some photos of Dracula after a bath. He hates being wet and spends the next couple hours licking himself dry, but he loves feeling clean once he’s all dried off!

Hahah…he looks like a little porcupine! I bathe my cats about once a year as well, because they absolutely hate it!

Yes, I bathe my cats whenever they seem like they need a bath. We’re getting a Maine Coon this weekend and I’ll probably be bathing her more often because they tend to get oily coats. I might also be taking her to cat shows which require that they be bathed before the show.
